The Egyptian vulture Neophron percnopterus is a scavenger bird that possesses a mainly white plumage which contrasts with its dark flying feathers.
This species can only be confused with the Booted-eagle, Hieraaetus pennatus (light phase) although it is relatively bigger and has a wedge-shaped tail. In the face and where feathers are totally absent we can easily see the strong yellow coloration of the skin. This vulture presents a wingspan of 168 to 200 cm, a body length between 50 and 80 cm and a weight between 1,6 and 2,4 kg(Cramp & Simmons 1980).
The juveniles present a grayish plumage and the face has a dark tone.
